Exclusive Season Training Weeks

We offer tailor made programs to special audiences and in specific periods, such as our SiD Summer Course. These programs take place in inspiring sites, field trips included.

About fifteen people stand spread across a sunlit lawn ringed by tall conifers and rhododendrons, facing a small stone marker in the middle.

Who is it for

  1. Business executives
  2. Program managers
  3. Concept developers
  4. Government leaders

Learning goals

  1. Discover the relevance of bottom-up and top-down approaches
  2. Apply SiD to your real-world case
  3. Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams

A week off site, with field trips, taking one case all the way through: from its assumptions to a mapped system, a set of goals, and a roadmap with the first projects named. The method is the one the shorter courses use, worked at the pace a week allows.

That pace leaves room to stop on the parts that normally get compressed, and to work out what the future the group wants would actually take. Groups are small and the days are long.

One case, from the first questions to a roadmap

A week is long enough to go from the first questions to a roadmap without skipping anything on the way. The group sets goals and indicators, maps the system across space, time and context, and then spends real time inside the maps.

Field trips take the group out to the case itself. Which tools come out depends on the case, though backcasting is almost always one of them: describe the state you want to be in, then work back to what would have to be true to get there.
